We Survived

Well, back to work full time today. Luckily, its from home, but Loren is back to work now too. We survived our first full day together and I managed to get a lot of work done! We squeezed in a much needed nap also. Loren will be home in a few minutes and I can get some more things done. Working in sweat pants is not that bad!

Tomorrow I have meetings. I have to be gone from 9 - 3. That's a long day for the first day out, but I think we'll be okay. Jean, the next door neighbor, has offered to watch Hayden when I go in. She'll come over here where everything is handy. She's raised two boys herself and is very nice. She came over today and I showed her where everything is. She asked a lot of questions, and I think we are all set. It's just a long first day. But I have a 10-12 meeting on Wednesday and then that's all the meetings for the week.

Hayden doesn't go back to the doctor until April 2 now. We were going about every two weeks. He's gained a lot of weight, he weighed 9 lbs 3 oz at the last visit. He also got a shot. The shot was hard on all of us. He had a really fussy night because his little leg hurt. We made sure to tell him it was the nurses fault, not ours!

We are starting to give him some formula. The literature says to start by replacing one meal. We only started yesterday. We have almost two full months before I go back to the office to get it right. He takes the bottle just fine, so I am not that worried.

He is getting a lot better about nights and days. Only problem is his day starts about 6 am. Normally, I get up that early for work, but when you are up a few times a night to feed him it makes you tired. My sister-in-law says eventually your body just gets used to less sleep. Hope that happens soon.

We are going to the lake this weekend so Hayden can meet one of his great grandmothers, his Aunt Lynn, and his cousins Tyler and Hunter. It's our first road trip. Only two hours, so I am sure it will all go fine. I am hoping to go to Louisville in the near future so Hayden can meet his other great grandmother, but a six hour trip seems a little scary right now. We'll get there.
